Isaiah 40:9 “Lift up your voice with strength, lift it up, be not afraid.”
It is not enough for us talk amongst ourselves about how terrible things are becoming under our present government. We must talk it in the streets. We must shout it from the rooftops. We must make our voice heard with strength. One lone voice will not carry much weight with a government that is deaf to the voice of the people it was elected to represent. It takes a people raising voices in unison for anybody to take notice – that is what it means to lift up your voice with strength.
“When the righteous rule the people rejoice.”
I don’t hear much rejoicing these days.
“One sinner does much harm” – especially in parliament.
All it takes for evil to prosper is for good people to do nothing.
It is up to us to do something.
When your grandchildren ask you, “What did you do when they were passing all these ungodly laws?” what will your response be? “Oh, I left it up to the politicians” ??
Signing a petition to defeat the anti-smacking bill presently before parliament is one of the ways you can lift your voice. But getting others to sign it with you is how you do it with strength, so that your voice can be heard.
Is there not a cause?
Lift up your voice with strength, and encourage others around you to do the same.
