Worship This Side of Heaven

"Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom." Psalm 145:2-3

What a privilege it is to worship. When we worship, we are partnering with the activity of heaven and releasing heaven’s atmosphere into our environment. Heaven is filled with worship. It is an atmosphere of adoration and praise to God. The angels worship there with a complete realization of His greatness. However, we worship right now seeing only a glimpse.

“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1Corinthians 13:12).

When we worship, we offer up something no angel can. Here on earth we have the honor of worshiping God while only seeing a glimpse. However, in eternity we will see the fullness of Who He is. Here on earth is the only time we offer up worship in circumstances where there is doubt, questions, heart ache and uncertainty. In heaven we will worship Him seeing the totality of His greatness and love. We will know the full answers and see everything through the eyes of eternity. Worship will be our one and only response.

However here on earth, worship is a choice. Will you still choose to worship even when you don’t feel like it, when it’s not convenient, when circumstances don’t seem to line up, when you see only a glimpse? Worship this side of heaven is beautiful to the heart of God. We offer Him worship that makes the angels stand back in awe. Right now we have the honor of worshiping the God of the universe who knows the end from the beginning. Yes, worship will be our heart cry for all of eternity. But will we choose to make it our heart cry right now?

Spend time today and offer up worship in the midst of whatever situation you are in. This is your moment to give God an offering of worship you will no longer be able to offer Him in eternity. He is worthy of our praise!
