We have just been to the most awesome prophetic worship conference. We were privileged to have a visit to our country by 11 members of the International House of Prayer team from Kansas city (Mike Bickles' ministry. ) Kirk Bennett and his team lead us in 3 days of teaching and demonstration of what it means to be part of a 24 hour house of prayer and harp and bowl worship.
A truly faceless generation of worshipers, these young people so touched my heart and renewed my passion for Jesus, that I think I can truly say this was the most impacting conference I have been to yet. I felt like I had come home. 25 years ago when the Lord called me to ministry He spoke to my heart about "restoring the Tabernacle of David" as in days of old. This speaks of the pattern of worship that David established where worship went up before the Lord day and night without ceasing. David raised up and trained skilled musicians and singers for this purpose.
This Kansas City House of Prayer team is the closest thing I know of today that is an actual demonstration of the beginning of the fulfilment of this end time prophecy. (Acts 15:16 ) Our whole focus in ministry as a church here in New Zealand has been moving in this direction over the last few years, and this recent conference was such a timely event, our lives and ministry have been affirmed by the spirit of God in such a powerful way. If you ever get a chance to be at one of these conferences, don't miss it. And if I lived anywhere near Kansas city... I'd be moving!!!
The day after the conference, with the presence of God still strong from all the wonderful worship times we had, I felt drawn to write a song, to commemorate my personal decision to become a "house of prayer." The song is called just that, "House of Prayer". It is a very intimate, soul searching, and passionate plea for His mercy and presence, as we seek to honor Him with our lives. The actual writing of the song was a little unusual for me. I felt the Lord lead me to write a poem first, and then, with only a few basic ideas of how the melody would go, I sang the song spontaneously and recorded it live. I have left it as it is, without any additions or corrections, because it captures for me the prophetic spirit of what the whole conference was about, and is my prayer of dedication to the Lord. I hope it will become yours.
A powerful, intense song of dedication about being broken before the Lord and yielding to Him; written during the IHOP conference in Auckland, New Zealand, August 2003.

"Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations." Isaiah 56:7
