Note of Encouragement: His Perfect Work

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Eph 2:13 NIV).

We have been brought near by the blood of Jesus and given direct access to His heart and everything we need. We are now made perfect in Him. When He looks at us, He sees Jesus’ righteousness because we have been made the righteousness of Christ (2 Cor. 5:21).

The price for our redemption has been paid in full. If your performance is what makes you feel worthy and justified when you come into His Presence, then you have missed the whole point of Jesus finished work. Isaiah 64:6 states that “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags”. It is not about our performance, it is about His. It is by His merits alone that we can come boldly to His throne.

It’s not about us. It’s about Him. The act of Jesus dying on the cross was the only and final ‘work’ needed to bring us into right standing with our Heavenly Father. Now everything we are and do comes from a place of identity as His children with His DNA.

Our Heavenly Father is not looking for a religious formula or completed check-list. He is after our hearts and desires a relationship. As you spend time in His Presence today, receive a fresh revelation of His heart and great love towards you as His beloved child.

“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32).
